10 Bulls

A film experience by Kim Bour

Ten Bulls is the world famous Zen parable written by the Chinese master Kakuan in the twelfth century. In ten stanzas it tells the story of a herdsman’s pursuit of a mystical ox, a quest which represents the search for one’s true identity.

For centuries artists have been inspired to create images to illustrate the Zen poem and its associated commentaries. 10 Bulls is the creation of team of artists and special effects designers have come together under the direction of award-winning filmmaker, Kim Bour, to create a film version of the Ten Oxherding Pictures.

The result is an immersive experience for eye and ear, designed to evoke the spirit of Zen, a philosophy that must be experienced before it can be understood.
